Production of Stainless Steel Corrugated Tube The corrugated tube are availabe both in seamless tube and welded tube. It is a pipe with a helical groove obtained from a plain tube by cold forming. The number of starts of the helix can be changed as weel as the angle to optimic the heat transfer and performance. Furthermore, the main propertities of the original plain tube are not reduced. One advarange of corrugated tube is that they prevent viscous fluids and suspensions from forming an insulating boundary larger on the tube surface. Turbulence makes tubular heat exchanger more efficient by preventing viscous materials sticking to the wall of the tube, where they can act as insulation and prevent materials in suspension from dropping out of the carra fuel and having a similar effect. This is the benefit of the corrugated tube.

Gaps between fin tube is a common request from our customers.  Long gaps enables the customer to get the tube bent after finning. The gaps are left unfinned so the tube can be bent with no risk to the tube integrity. Small or shorter gaps between fin tube enables long tubes to be supported with no damage to the fin.

Fin tube support can prevent fin from damaging when put fin tubes together when delivered, also can be a support when installing fin tubes on air cooled heat exchangers. What kinds of finned tubes are used in air cooled heat exchanger? The tubes can be of virtually any material available, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, Admiralty brass, or more exotic alloys. The minimum preferred outside diameter is one inch. Some manufacturers sometimes use smaller tubes, but most of the process coolers have tubes which are 1.0", 1.25", or 1.5" OD. The minimum tube wall thicknesses vary with the material. In some cases the design pressure and design temperature of the exchanger govern the minimum thickness. The fins are almost always of aluminum material. The most common type of fin is the helically wrapped, L-footed type . These are used where the process temperatures are below about 350 deg. F. The API specification calls for cast zinc bands at the ends of the tubes to prevent the fins from unwrapping. Some of the better manufacturers also use cast zinc bands at the tube supports.
